Course Content
1.1 Understanding the UPSC Exam
The UPSC Exam, also known as the Union Public Service Commission Exam, is an examination conducted by the Government of India in order to recruit candidates for various civil services posts such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). The UPSC Exam is considered to be one of the toughest exams in the world and requires a great deal of preparation and hard work. The exam consists of two stages, the Preliminary Exam and the Mains Exam. The Preliminary Exam is an objective type exam and tests the candidate's knowledge in general studies and aptitude. The Mains Exam is a subjective type exam and tests the candidate's knowledge in the various subjects of the chosen service. The UPSC Exam is conducted annually and has a success rate of less than 1%.
